LG Uplus announced that its kids’ platform KidsTopia has received the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the 2024 Metaverse Alliance & Self-Regulation Showcase, held on January 11 at Seoul Dragon City Hotel. The event recognizes outstanding contributions to the development of the metaverse ecosystem in Korea.
KidsTopia was praised for its achievements in user protection, interactive communication, and authentic content for children. The platform allows kids to explore languages, animals, dinosaurs, and space through immersive 3D environments, engaging with multilingual AI characters powered by LG Uplus' proprietary ixi engine.
Since launching in May 2023, KidsTopia has grown rapidly, especially in Southeast Asia, surpassing 900,000 registered users as of December 2024.
Earlier this month, KidsTopia also received the Gold Medal in the Mobile App category at the 2024 Mom’s Choice Awards®, a global certification program evaluating children’s content for quality, educational value, and creativity.
